The classic setup is four products: pre-shave oil, shaving soap, a shaving brush, and after-shave balm — plus a safety razor. The pre-shave oil softens the beard, the brush whips the soap into a warm protective lather, the razor cuts, and the balm soothes. Start with our full wet shaving collection.

A badger or silvertip brush holds warm water and works the soap into a thick, slick lather you cannot get from a can. The bristles also gently lift and soften each hair, so the razor glides instead of scrapes.

Many men get a closer shave with less irritation once they learn the technique — a single sharp blade with no clogging, at a fraction of the per-blade cost. It does take a shave or two to adjust your angle and pressure. Our Baron safety razors are a good place to start.

Rinse the brush thoroughly with warm water after each shave, shake out the excess water, and hang or stand it to dry with the hair facing down or sideways. Never leave it sitting in water or pressed against a wet sink — the hair must dry fully between uses. With basic care a badger brush lasts for years.

With daily use, one jar of our shaving soap typically lasts several months — it takes only a few swirls of a damp brush to load enough soap for a full lather.

Sandalwood is warm and classic; Barbershop is clean and nostalgic; Bay Rum is spicy with a lighter clove note; Emerald Grove is fresh and green. All our scents are blended to be subtle, not overpowering. If you prefer no fragrance at all, we offer unscented pre-shave oil and after-shave balm.
